Abraham-Louis Perrelet was a rare pioneer whose work changed the course of
watchmaking history. Perrelet created the automatic rotor, which made it
possible for the mainspring of a timepiece to be wound using the energy
generated by the natural movements of the wearer. This mechanism is
incorporated in every automatic watch ever manufactured.
